Conflict of Interest notice sent to Kapil Dev-led Cricket Advisory Committee

Members of the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), namely Kapil Dev, Aunshuman Gaekwad and Shantha Rangaswamy have been served Conflict of Interest notice by BCCI Ethics Officer Justice DK Jain. The trio have been asked to respond by October 10.
The charges have been levelled by Sanjeev Gupta, a life member of the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association.
According to Gupta, Kapil Dev dons multiple roles, that of a commentator, owner of a floodlight company, member of Indian Cricketers Association besides his role in the CAC, and hence is in violation of BCCI's constitution that now permits only one post per person.
On similar grounds, Gaekwad has been accused being guilty of owning an academy and being a member of the BCCI Affiliation Committee. Rangaswamy, the former captain of the Indian women's team, is alleged to be conflicted because of her multiple roles with the CAC and ICA.
Gupta had also brought to daylight the conflict of interest charges for the previous CAC, which comprised of Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman.
